Description
Learn the fundamentals of tintype wet plate photography on a 5×7 plate. Walk away with your very own varnished tintype plate as well as a high-res flatbed scan to keep as a digital copy.
Work side by side with Luis Covarrubias, a South-LA based analog photographer, to learn the process of taking a tintype photograph. From preparing the plate to loading and taking an exposure, each participant will have the opportunity to capture and develop a portrait.
This workshop involves the use of chemicals that will stain clothes, shoes, skin, etc. Aprons will be provided, but please wear old/worn clothing. Close-toed shoes are required.
