Qualified applicants will have a well versed knowledge and experience working with various film formats and types. Please read on for information about each position.

Lab Technician

The lab is also on the lookout for another set of hands to help mostly with lab operations. This means you will be responsible for prepping and running film through our processing machines.

In this position, you will work alongside our team to keep track of all C-41 and Black-and-White film processing orders to ensure each gets developed absolutely perfectly. So deep knowledge of the film process will prove valuable and the selected applicant will need to work well in fast paced, high-detail environments like our lab.

In addition to running film through our processors, we intend to have this team member trained to process specialized films in our various other ‘semi-automatic’ processors (Jobo, etc).

Because of this, the qualified applicant will need to have a decent amount of film handling, and extreme organizations experience. This is a fast paced environment where attention to detail is always necessary.

We are currently looking to fill a Friday-Monday (11a-7p) schedule for this position.

Excellent organization and file management and moderate to excellent literacy in both Mac and Windows operating systems is an absolute must. Knowledge of various film stocks/film selection and the fundamentals of analog photography are major pluses. The selected applicant will also be able to work under tight deadlines to deliver customer orders as efficiently as possible, all while still providing superb, quality results. Additionally, the position can evolve into other things if the candidate desires to bring new initiatives to the lab. This would all depend on both the applicant’s interests and the lab’s needs at any given time.

For this position, please include relevant experience only as well as a portfolio of your imagery/photo work if you would like to share.

Pay: starting at $20/hour during the evaluation period.

All positions will start with a 30-to-45-day training/proving period, after which the rate is re-evaluated depending on final placement and performance. All positions require a strong desire for perfection, as we are taking care of people’s once-in-a-lifetime family memories, first-time high-paying jobs shooting for prestigious publications, and many other kinds of unmissable moments where missing the mark means orders of magnitude more to that person (and many others) than someone’s $10 processing order. We strive for perfection. And that should be an exciting challenge (as opposed to a deterrent) for those we’re looking to hire. Candidates should thrive with constructive critique for improvement and should return the favor to other team members openly, honestly, and with respect. Help us all care more, do more, and be more every day you come to work.

If anything is unclear, always ask. We love open, honest communication.
